Recovering at home after an illness, surgery, or a hospital stay is often faster and more comfortable than recovering in a facility — especially with the right support from family and a skilled care team.
Follow the care plan
Consistency is one of the biggest factors in a smooth recovery:
- Keep to the medication schedule
- Attend therapy sessions and do the home exercises
- Watch for warning signs and report changes early
- Make and keep follow-up appointments
Create an encouraging environment
Healing is emotional as well as physical. Small things make a big difference:
- Celebrate small wins and progress
- Keep your loved one socially connected
- Encourage rest, hydration, and good nutrition
Take care of yourself, too
Caregiving is demanding, and you can't pour from an empty cup. Accept help when it's offered, take breaks, and lean on respite care when you need it — it's good for both of you.
Our nurses and therapists partner closely with families to make recovery smoother — and to help prevent a return trip to the hospital.
